2018; Mixed-media Installation (plaster, aluminum cans, string, arduino, and speaker)

In “Untitled (You Used to Call Me on My Cellphone),” the viewer is presented with surreal, disembodied hands clutching tin can telephones. The strings of the ‘phones’ connect haphazardly around the space, and ultimately are “filtered” through a central wall. Viewers are invited to walk into the installation and try to listen to what is being transmitted. The tin cans, like our cell phones, become an extension of the body—attempting to extend our ability to connect.
