2020; Resin, found object
I began this piece at the beginning of lockdown in the US when N95 masks were scarce. This mask was one I already had in my studio for use when sanding, etc so I decided to embed it in resin as I felt the mask object had been transformed into a symbol overnight. It took me several months to pour the multiple layers of resin–each time venturing to my studio felt risky. I never thought I was going to finish it before the pandemic crisis ended, but a year later we’re still here.
